Travel tips for honeymooners to Tahiti

Written and photos by Marie Glodt Certified Tahiti Specialist.

The mere mention of the word Tahiti makes people smile! What is not to love about the islands of Tahiti with their turquoise water, fresh flower leis, world class spas and a laid back life style only the Polynesians know how to master!

Dreaming of an over the water bungalow in Tahiti?
Unlike any other hotel room you've stayed in before, these traditional thatched-roof bungalows are perched above tranquil lagoon waters. In many of the over water bungalows, tropical fish swim below as you look through the glass floor or coffee table.

With all the amenities of a first-class hotel room, here on your private balcony surrounded only by water and sky, you can enjoy both breakfast, often delivered by canoe.

Looking for oceanfront view without being directly over the water? A beach bungalow allows you to walk directly from your bungalow to the sandy beach. Some of the finer properties also include your own pool or jacuzzi.

Trying to keep your costs down on your Tahiti vacation? A garden view is less expensive option while still offering all the amenities the resorts have to offer. Because the Tahitian islands are small and most aren’t densely populated, the garden bungalows offer privacy without the ocean view price.

We also offer an exotic 7-10 day cruise around the islands of Tahiti as an all inclusive option

Planning a destination wedding?

Many little girls dream of their “big day” and what that will entail! As they grow older they may fine tune ideas that when you are 7 years old just don’t work when you are 27. Such as a horse drawn carriage in the snow may sound romantic but timing the weather can be a little tricky to say the least.

Another dream is being married with your “toes in the sand.” This vision is easy to have come true.
Especially in Hawaiian Islands where are average weather is 75 degrees year round.

Granted some islands in Hawaii can have a bit more rain than others. This all depends on the time of year and location of your beach wedding.

Travel to Maui is a Hawaiian travel agency located on the island of Maui. Our specialty is honeymoons and destination wedding travel packages to Hawaii.

We are also a Maui Master and Hawaiian Destination Specialist with the Hawaii Visitor Bureau. We know the best places to stay, fun things to see and do, and great places to eat, drink and shop! We will also save you time and money on your Hawaiian vacation!

When planning your destination wedding or honeymoon to Hawaii contact the travel experts at Travel to Maui for a quote or to schedule a consulting appointment. http://www.traveltomaui.net

Travel to Maui

When planning the vacation of your lifetime, or perhaps your honeymoon and you wanted to go to Maui, Hawaii, wouldn’t you want to work with an experienced travel professional who has have been there first? Wouldn’t you feel more confident with a travel agent who knew the best places to stay, wonderful places to eat, and what tours to not miss! Of course you would!

That’s why travel agent Marie Glodt of Travel to Maui in Maui, Hawaii took the time and effort to become a Maui Master with the Hawaiian Visitor and Convention Bureau.

The Maui Master program is an intensive training program that the Hawaiian Visitor Bureau office offers to travel agents. Agents don’t get certified until they attend a 6 day workshop to learn about the destination and vacation options. They must also take a trip to the islands of Maui County and experience the islands first-hand. This includes the islands of Maui, Lanai and Molokai.

A lot of people have a life long dream of visiting Hawaii. Glodt says that being a Maui Master’s Agent has given her the ability to make people’s dreams come true!
“There is no more romantic place than Hawaii for a honeymoon or anniversary. But that’s not all. There are wonderful cruises throughout the islands. There’s also world-class scuba diving and yachting.”

Which island in Hawaii is the best to visit?

When people are thinking about visiting Hawaii they start asking friends, family and coworkers the question "which island should I visit when I go to Hawaii?" I also see this question all the time at Yahoo answers, trip advisor, lonely planet, fodors, and in chat rooms.

My answer as a Maui travel agent and Hawaii destination specialist is always the same. “It depends on the traveler!

For example what are your interests? How much are you allowing for your travel budget? Are you planning your honeymoon or is this a family vacation?

There really isn’t a bad choice when deciding which island to visit in Hawaii. There just may one island that is better suited to your life style and requirements in a Hawaiian vacation.

All of the islands in Hawaii will have our wonderful “Aloha Spirit,” water sports, hiking trails, zip line tours, and snorkeling regardless of which island you pick in the state.

Are you looking for nightlife, shopping, and lots of dining options? Does your vacation social calendar need lots of entries to keep you happy? You would be the type of traveler who would enjoy the high rises in Waikiki, the city lights of Honolulu, located on the island of Oahu.

Will you be spending your honeymoon with us in Hawaii? Then you will probably want to be on a more secluded island. Or limit your stay in Oahu to 2 or 3 days prior to traveling to the second island in Hawaii.

The island of Lanai has 2 luxury properties operated by the Four Season Resort chain. This island is perfect if you idea of a honeymoon or vacation to Hawaii is to be pampered in their world class spa, and wrapped in the finest in amenities. Don’t be expecting a Costco or McDonalds during your stay as they don’t exist on the island of Lanai (or Molokai).

Want to see an active volcano? The big island of Hawaii has been “growing” since 1983. I have actually flown over the lava in a helicopter, and cruised by on a cruise ship, plus walked to the rift. By far this is one of the most spectacular things I have done in my lifetime.

When dreaming of your Hawaiian vacation do you imagine sitting on a lounge chair having someone bring you fruity tropical drinks, and relaxing watching the whales cruise by? Maui is my favorite island to see whales and so much more. That is why I call Maui home!

Kauai is known for its lush green valleys, spectacular rainbows and cascading waterfalls. In order to have rainbows and waterfalls a little rain must fall. Of the all the islands in the Hawaiian island chain, Kauai does tend to be the wettest island. The wettest months are generally December-April.

This is a brief over view of the Hawaiian Islands. If you are would like more information about a Hawaiian vacation or to set up a consulting appointment with one of our Hawaii destination specialist please contact us at http://www.traveltomaui.net

Looking for something different to do in Maui?

As a travel agent at Travel to Maui and resident of Hawaii I like to find fun and unique things to see and do here in the islands.

This weekend was no exception. I relaxed at the Spa Grande at the Grand Wailea enjoying the scented baths, jacuzzi, and waterfall showers, plus the wonderful mango scrub.

I also checked out the zip line tours swinging from tree tops on the 9 line canopy tour with Piiholo Ranch.

On Sunday I relaxed outside at the most beautiful setting you could ever imagine for a polo game.

Zipline on Maui

There are many fun things to do when you are visiting the island of Maui.

Zip lining is one of the more thrilling things you can do while you are here in Hawaii!

As a Maui resident and travel agent at Travel to Maui I make it my goal to get out and experience first hand the many hotels, resorts and tours available. This weekend I tried Piiholo Ranch Treetop Canopy Tours.

This 3 hour tour is held twice daily 7 days a week. I did the 9 ziplines and 4 bridge tour. It felt like you were Tarzan and Jane swinging via the tree tops, hanging from tree houses in the beautiful "upcountry" Maui!

Piiholo Ranch Tours offers 3 canopy tours and 4 zip line tours on their unique adventure course.

Not looking for a zip line tour but still would like to enjoy the peace and quiet of upcountry Maui? Piiholo Ranch offers horseback riding tours for the beginner or advanced rider.
